After a few kilometers from Grottole, the descent begins through the woods, then along open fields. Once at the bottom of the descent, the path starts climbing again, reaching the top of a small plateau at the end of which we find the sanctuary of Sant’Antonio Abate, which is unfortunately uninhabited and closed. Soon after, we descend again, then start a final climb on a road, between some houses and farms, which quite steeply leads directly to the main square of Grassano.

From there, you can reach the Mother Church of San Giovanni Battista in a few minutes, which is at the highest point of the entire town. From there, you can enjoy an excellent view from which you can see the towns already encountered in the previous stages.

My journey along the Via Peuceta ends here, while tomorrow my travel companions will walk one more stage to reach Tricarico.
