The Via Ellenica connects Alberobello and Matera in 8 stages, for a total of about 171.6 km and an average of 21.45 km per stage.

Crossing the fascinating Land of the Gravines both above and inside Europe’s largest canyons, it offers breathtaking panoramas and decidedly evocative villages.

Having started from Matera towards Alberobello, my numbering of the stages is “backwards” compared to the classic direction that ends in Matera.
